In 2006 I was one of 14 experienced editors elected to the Assessors Forum of the Accreditation Board of the Institute of Professional Editors Limited (IPEd).
Our job is to formalise the requirements for editors who wish to be accredited by IPEd. This includes making up test questions, discussing marking procedures and marking candidates' papers. For this work I was awarded the postnominal "rank" of DE, "distinguished editor".
